Building Information
Baylor University officially dedicated its world-class science teaching and research facility - the $103.3 million Baylor Sciences Building - on Friday, Sept. 24, 2004.
The 508,000-square-foot Baylor Sciences Building consolidates the science disciplines of biology, chemistry, environmental science, geology, physics, psychology and neuroscience, and houses a complement of 31 classrooms and lecture halls, and over 200 teaching and research laboratories.
The Baylor Sciences Building also houses multidisciplinary research centers on Biomedical Studies, Drug Discovery, Molecular Biosciences, Mass Spectrometry, Analytical Spectroscopy, Reservoir and Aquatic Systems Research, and Spatial Research as well as centers supporting Pre-Health programs, Pre-Nursing, and Medical Humanities.
Since the inception of planning, a major goal for the Building has been to build bridges between the science departments and promote multidisciplinary teaching and research.
