Access to the Facility
The MBC Sterilizer & Laundry Facility is located on the 3rd floor of the Baylor Sciences Building, D307 and is available for use by all researchers at Baylor University. Sterilizer performance is tested monthly.
To access the MBC Sterilizer & Laundry Facility, you must apply for and have approved card access through the MBC Director. Access to the Sterilizer & Laundry Facility is separate from access to the MBC main lab. Training on the sterilizers is required prior to use. Training must be conducted by the MBC Director or by a Faculty member who has already received training. Students may not train other students. Laboratory attire and washable gear may be cleaned in the laundry facility; no personal items may be laundered. Any individuals misusing the sterilizers or laundry facility, interrupting cycles in progress, failing to follow log-book procedures, failing to dispose of autoclaved wastes properly or who are found laundering personal items will have their access to the Sterilizer & Laundry Facility revoked.
