Machine Shop
The BSB Machine Shop supports the needs of Baylor researchers by working with Faculty, Staff, Post Docs, Graduate and Undergraduate students that work with scientific research equipment. The Machine shop provides the high-quality design, fabrication, and repair of equipment and instrumentation.
About Our Machinist:
Joe is a highly skilled designer, machinist, welder and fabricator who can cover almost anything brought his way (within equipment capabilities). He brings decades of experience to each job as well as a great deal of skill, ingenuity, and determination to see projects through to completion. He is a skilled craftsman who takes pride in his work and is happy to work with the Baylor community.
Hours of Operation:
The shop is generally open Monday through Friday from 8am to noon, and 1pm to 5pm. At certain times, those hours may differ, or the shop may be closed.
For safety and security of our machinist and in order to minimize interruptions, we ask that visits to the shop occur between
10:30am – 11:30am and 2pm – 3pm

If you need assistance, please complete the work request form and submit to us by sending it to bsb_machineshop@baylor.edu. This will enter the request into our queue of work. Please fill out properly and submit the form as it starts the documentation process and gives us a date, contact person, location of equipment, and work requests or description of the problem. We will contact you to coordinate the repair or discuss work requested.
You will be asked to bring a sketch of the part you want fabricated to the shop where a machinist will review the drawing with you.
